Technorati is a web site community that tracks blogs, pictures and content that the users post to their blogs. Technorati keeps all of this, well organized using tags; like we use on our blogs.

Technorati ranks your blog, blogs with a higher blog ranking is considered to be one of the popular blogs and one of the best blogs in that category.

The more blogs that link to you, the higher your blog ranking and blog authority will be. The higher your authority number the better your position is.

Blog Ranking is a ranking of how far you are from the highest authority blog. Remember, the smaller the number of rank the better you are in the rankings. In this case, the closer you are to the highest ranked. To increase your blog ranking and authority I found this helpful article.

With everything that Technorati offers, I can honestly say I love it. I will be adding more of my blogs to Technorati.

This is a valuable tool for serious bloggers. You can scan through the website using their search engine and be able to keep on top of your competition, see what is popular, or even check out how other bloggers are using their tags effectively and come up with some ideas of your own. You can also syndicate your blog, find other blogs in your niche, and exchange links with other blogs.

This is a great way to come up with ideas for ebooks, and articles for your blog. You can also make money by checking out the most popular blogs and see what private advertising they use on their blog.

There are two things I highly suggest you do:

1. Ping Technorati everytime you post to your blog
2. Add your Twitter blog to Technorati.

Once you signup and claim your blogs make sure that you set yoru blog up to ping Technorati everytime your post to your blog. Add this line to your ping list inside your Wordpress dashboard (under – settings/writing) in the update services area add this link: http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping

As many of my friends know, I am a huge fan of Twitter. I came across a site this morning that shows you how to add your twitter blog to Technorati. To learn how to do this click here
